Time Crisis is one of Namco’s greatest arcade shooter franchises, and in this retrospective, we look back at how the series changed light gun games forever. From the original Time Crisis and its famous foot pedal cover system to Time Crisis II bringing in co-op action, Time Crisis 3 adding weapon switching, Time Crisis 4 pushing the series into HD, and spin-offs like Crisis Zone, Project Titan, and Razing Storm, this franchise gave arcade fans some of the most intense shooting action of the 90s and 2000s. In this video, I talk about the development history, story, gameplay, graphics, replay value, and why Time Crisis still deserves respect today. Even though the light gun genre is not as big as it used to be, Time Crisis remains one of the best examples of arcade design done right. Step on the pedal, come out of cover, fire, reload, and race against the clock.
