Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is one of Broadway’s most infamous productions, but looking back on it now, I still find something fascinating about it. In this retrospective, I talk about the chaotic production history, the acting, the music by Bono and The Edge, the reception, and why this messy Broadway disaster still had moments of real enjoyment for me. Was Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark a great musical? Not really. Was it ambitious, unforgettable, and strangely entertaining? Absolutely.
